Intentia is a collaborative task management app for people with ADD, couples, roommates, families, and teams. Your privacy matters to us, and this policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Email and password when you create an account with email, or your Apple ID identifier when you sign in with Apple.
- Display name so your collaborators can identify you in shared lists.
- Timezone to display due dates and reminders in your local time.
Content You Create
- Lists and tasks: Names, descriptions, notes, due dates, priorities, tags, and recurring task schedules.
- Subtasks: Breakdown items within your tasks.
Device Information
- Push notification token (APNs) to deliver notifications to your device.
- Device name, OS version, and app version to help us diagnose issues when you report bugs.
Usage Analytics
We collect basic analytics events to understand how the app is used and improve it. These include:
- App opens and session starts.
- Task actions (created, completed, reopened, deleted, edited).
- List actions (created, deleted, shared).
Analytics are stored in our own database — we do not use third-party analytics SDKs or tracking pixels.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Deliver core features: Shared lists, task assignment, nudges, streaks, reminders, and recurring tasks.
- Send push notifications: Task reminders, nudges from collaborators, task assignments, list membership updates, and overdue task alerts. You can control each notification type individually in your notification preferences.
- Improve the app: Usage analytics help us understand which features are used and where the experience can be better.
- Provide support: When you reach out, we use your account information to help diagnose and resolve issues.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share information only in these cases:
- With your collaborators: When you share a list, members can see your name and the tasks within that list (including who created and who is assigned to each task).
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs): We send push notification tokens and message content through Apple’s servers to deliver notifications to your device.
- Sentry (error monitoring): When the app encounters an error, we send diagnostic information to Sentry to help us identify and fix bugs. This does not include your task content.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law.
4. Data Security
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text.
- All communication is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
- Authentication uses short-lived JWT tokens with secure refresh token rotation and reuse detection.
- Accounts are locked after repeated failed sign-in attempts.
- API requests are rate-limited to prevent abuse.
5. Data Retention
- Your data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- When you delete your account, all your personal data, lists, tasks, devices, and associated records are permanently deleted.
- Expired authentication tokens are cleaned up automatically.
6. Your Rights
You can:
- Update or correct your name, email, and timezone in the app.
- Control which push notifications you receive through notification preferences.
- Delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app.
- Request a copy of your data by contacting us at support@intentiaapp.com.
7. Children’s Privacy
Intentia is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will promptly delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
